The cool change continues for another day. Dad disappears early on his bike so we take off without him. Our plan today is just to retrace our steps from yesterday, but this time explore one or two of the villages we passed. We stop at le mas-d'agenais, still minus Dad. Kim, Toby and I buy some fruit and find another le poste. Mum explores the church. When we get back to the boat, mum and I decided to ride for a bit. We pass a fair few people on the bike path. We've seen several people who seem to be travelling through just by bike. But most seem to be out for a leisurely ride.
When Kim and I were little tackers we were riding out bikes one day. Kim went a little big quicker and I apparently said "Faster ride Kimmy bike", annoyed that Kim's bike went quicker than mine. It seems nothing has changed. When we were riding yesterday, Kimmy's bike still went quicker. Although I guess now she's a cyclist, and I'm, well, not.
After seeing very few boats on the canal yesterday we meet more in the locks today. Most a lot bigger than ours. We eventually find Dad waiting on a bridge at the lock at St Christophe (the village, not our boat) and pick him up. He's not impressed to find we've already had lunch and finished off most of the food, assuming he would have got something on the way. Then it's back to Burzet. Going up the canal we had to wait for the locks to drain, to bring us down a level, but on the way back we have to wait for them to fill up.
Because we would need to make it to a port to moor on the river we decide to stop here and catch up on some washing and groceries. We visit a little cafe in the village for an ice cream - our second stop there. There is a very cute little dog that lives in a child's play pen there. Also speaks English, or so it seems.
After dinner, Mum, Dad and I set out for another ride, again venturing off the bike path. The roads here are very narrow and it's sometimes difficult to tell if you're heading on a road or down someone's driveway. We eventually find ourselves at the village without having to backtrack.
